Electric Fleet First Project Manager

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

About the team we are recruiting to

Coventry City Council is committed to transforming Coventry into a cleaner and healthier city for its residents and visitors. With a rich tradition in innovation the city is at the cutting edge of the automotive industry and a leader in transport innovation. Electric vehicles lie at the heart of this development and the electric fleet first project is aimed at supporting public and private sector organisations to make the transition to a zero-emission fleet.

We have been successful in securing over £2.6m from Highways England which will be used to support organisations across our city to trial and experience the benefits of using electric vehicles. This project complements a suite of initiatives being implemented to improve air quality in the city through the council’s local air quality action plan.

The first batch of electric vans and cars for the 2-year project are already on their way, where they will support efforts to reduce NO2 emissions on the local and strategic road network.

What is the job role?

The Electric Fleet First Project Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all aspects of the project. Working alongside colleagues across the council you will identify opportunities for raising awareness of the project and be the first point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. By collating and providing information to participant organisations you will identify and promote the benefits of electric vehicles with the ultimate aim of informing future vehicle purchasing decisions.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the quality of life for our residents and visitors by improving the city’s air quality.

We want someone who has a good understanding of the concept and operation of electric vehicles and be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the successful planning and delivery of large projects and have excellent analytical and communication skills enabling you to engage with and influence others.
