About the team we are recruiting to
Coventry City Council’s People & Culture Team sits within Human Resources and focuses on people, process and performance to deliver organisational transformation and cultural change through a range of organisational interventions. We’re a high performing team who are leading on a number of key priorities across the organisation including: Employee Engagement, Values & Culture, Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Development, Corporate Learning & Development and Apprenticeships & Early Careers.
The Apprenticeships & Early Careers Team is responsible for delivering the Council’s Apprenticeship Strategy which includes:
- Increasing the number and quality of apprenticeship opportunities within the Council
- Widening participation by targeting and engaging with priority and under-represented groups
- Embedding apprenticeships across the organisation and developing career pathways
- Effectively utilising the Apprenticeship Levy to upskill our current workforce
What is the job role?
The Apprenticeship and Early Careers Team is responsible for more than 300 apprentices undertaking over 60 apprenticeship standards ranging from Level 2 to Level 7 across the Council and our maintained schools. Working closely with the Workforce Planning and Early Careers Lead, Apprenticeship and Career Pathways Advisors, and a number of other internal and external partners you will provide a variety of administrative and project support related to apprentice recruitment, training and promotion.
including:
• Adding and updating apprentice records on our database and the Council’s Digital Apprenticeship Service account including verifying and approving requests for funding.
• Assisting the Apprenticeship and Career Pathways Advisors with a variety of recruitment tasks including contacting candidates, liaising with training providers and updating recruiting managers.
• Running and creating a variety of reports to maintain and update and apprenticeship data relating to key performance indicators.
• Promoting the Council’s Apprenticeship scheme and job vacancies via social media and updating our website.
• Working with partners to arrange a variety of events such as careers fairs, training courses and awards ceremonies.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 18 months. You will undertake Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship standard. Further information for this apprenticeship can be found here.
Who are we looking for?
The Apprenticeships and Early Careers Team are a small team that are passionate about supporting our apprentices to develop and achieve their full potential.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is passionate about apprenticeships and helping people develop
• Has good IT and digital skills including the ability to use spreadsheets to filter data for reports
• Has a strong attention to detail and is able to work accurately
• Is able to use their initiative to identify problems and propose solutions
