The Education Entitlement Service (EES) strives to deliver outstanding services for our customers, predominately the children of Coventry, who may be requiring access to education or alternative education provision. We ensure vulnerable children are appropriately supported; have a voice, that hopefully leads to their high achievement and excellent progress.

The EES is made up of a diverse range of teams all working together to recognise, support and apply innovative solutions to address the growing issues in relation to trying to educate some of our most vulnerable pupils in schools. 

The Outdoor Education Service made up of experienced staff members provides high quality outdoor and residential experiences within the beautiful Snowdonia National Park.

What is the job role?

We are looking for a flexible, dedicated individual to join our Domestic Team at Plas Dol y Moch - North Wales

To provide a clean, sanitised, tidy and safe environment for the provision of quality services. To assist the cook in the kitchen and undertake general kitchen and dining room duties such as getting everything ready for evening meal.

Core Knowledge

  • Cleaning all areas of the centre to ensure they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition.
  • Undertaking general kitchen duties and dining room duties (e.g preparation of food, washing up, preparing dining areas)
  • On changeover days deep clean communal areas, all bedrooms, clean shower rooms and toilet, vacuum cleaning, polishing and cleaning windows.
  • Undertaking laundry duties including transportation of linen and the operation of washing machines / dryers.
  • Occasionally carry out unpleasant cleaning tasks (e.g soiled linen, cleaning up vomit ect.)
  • To undertake all duties related to the post in a manner concordant with Coventry City Council policies.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities within the range of the salary grade.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
 

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge of practical catering operations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, and personal hygiene within a catering environment
  • Able to work flexibly, including some weekends, early mornings, and evenings

Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
