Digital Project Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic project manager to help deliver a digital cultural programme bringing Libraries, our communities, artists and other creative practitioners together.

Running in parallel with Coventry UK City of Culture 2021, this programme will include a VR showcase, community groups working with commissioned artists to create and exhibit digital content, live gigs and a training programme offering cultural experiences and opportunities.

We’re looking for a digital project manager who can show experience of keeping projects on track and in budget, managing and marketing events, and collecting and organising data. You will be a great communicator, and excited about working with partners including The Space, BBC and Get It Loud in Libraries to make culture and creativity available digitally. This fixed term role ends in Dec 2022.

Coventry Libraries will be working closely with The Space, a not-for-profit digital support agency that works with cultural organisations to improve their digital content skills and ability to reach and engage audiences online. Founded by Arts Council England and the BBC, The Space has supported more than 800 UK organisations with their digital development and commissioned more than 300 digital projects.

What is the job role?

The Digital Project Manager will help deliver an innovative and exciting digital cultural experience by engaging communities across Coventry. Running in parallel with Coventry UK City of Culture the programme will include launching a Virtual Reality showcase in the iconic Central Library; inviting commissioned artists to work with community groups to create and showcase digital content and developing a digital creative skills training programme for library staff. 

This fixed term role, ending December 2022, will be core to our success, a central point of contact and organisation between the central and local libraries, where the projects are based, the communities who are at the heart of this work, and the artists and partner organisations including The Space, BBC and Get It Loud in Libraries who will deliver the content for the programme. 

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Managing the marketing and delivery of cultural events and community activity, in Libraries and online
  • Working with training providers to deliver a staff digital skills programme
  • Offering a main point of project contact for communities, Library staff and project partners
  • Managing the overall delivery plan, with responsibility for budget control, reporting and risk management
  • Co-ordinating the collection and analysis of feedback from the events programme to help evaluate the success of our work
  • Making sure the programme is fully accessible to visitors and audiences with different needs

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has good organisational project manager skills with experience of and enthusiasm for delivering public facing arts, cultural or creative projects.

You will need knowledge of digital systems and their potential for use in a Library service context, including social media and online content publishing. You will need good communication and marketing skills and be able to display strong motivational skills, showing initiative and self-reliance.
