Our Values are:

About the team we are recruiting to

Coventry is the 9th biggest city in England and has ambitious plans to grow its economy, reputation and quality of life for its residents.

Destination Coventry is the Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for Coventry with the sole focus to create growth for the local visitor economy, creating and safeguarding  jobs in the sector and supporting our many tourism and hospitality businesses in the region. We also want to ensure our visitor experience creates a lasting impression.

In 2019, the visitor economy in Coventry was worth £594million as we welcomed 10.03 mil visitors. This demonstrated Coventry was leading the way regionally in the continued growth of volume and value in the visitor economy. In more recent years due to the COVID pandemic these visitor numbers and economic value has seen a significant reduction. However, due to the successes of the UK City of Culture 2021 and Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 we are seeing growth back in the sector, we hope with the legacy of these two events this growth can continue for years to come

What is the job role?

Destination Coventry is a Destination Management Organisation (DMO) which in collaboration with Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and Coventry City Council is in a proof of concept phase to better understand the role of a DMO for our regional businesses involved in the tourism and hospitality sector.

As part of this new way of working a membership strategy has been launched, an opportunity for businesses in the sector, or supplying to the sector to get involved in our work as we collectively together develop Coventry and the wider region as a destination of distinction for leisure and business visitors, thus continuing to grow the visitor economy and creating new jobs.

This is a new and exciting role where you will go out and meet our stakeholders, understanding their business and identifying opportunities where we can mutually work better together.

You will be responsible for our membership strategy; this will include mapping the customer journey, building and nurturing trusted relationships with our members, organising events, compiling literature and monthly communications with existing and prospective members.

This is a new post and an exciting chance to shape the role. In addition you will have the opportunity to be part of developing a long term future for a DMO in Coventry, playing a part in putting Coventry on the map to welcome new and existing visitors as we continue to grow the local visitor economy.

Who are we looking for?

Do you have a passion for sales and building effective professional relationships?

Have you had experience working in the tourism and hospitality sector?

Are you passionate about Coventry and the wider Warwickshire region and want to be a part of its continued success?

If so, this is the perfect role for you. You will work in a lively and committed team who all share the same goals, to make Coventry a destination of distinction, as we support our stakeholders maximise their full potential.

As a team we offer hybrid working with a mixture of home and office working, with this role though we anticipate you will spend a lot of the working week with our prospective and existing members, therefore the ability to drive with access to your own vehicle is essential.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months.
