Design and Technology Technician - President Kennedy School

We are seeking to appoint a professional and motivated colleague to work as part of the Design and Technology department in President Kennedy School.  This department consists of 2 main subject areas; KS3 Textiles/Resistant materials (including 2D work on the laser, as well as some Food lessons in Years 7 and 8). We deliver a BTEC level 1/ 2 First Award in Art and Design at KS4 with lots of specialisms being covered from wood, metal, plastics, clay, fashion and textiles currently. We currently have 2 classes in year 11 and 2 classes in year 10. A level Art and Design in year 12 specialisms include: Fashion and Textiles and Product Design.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of workspaces, tools, equipment and machinery, and for ensuring that a safe learning and working environment is provided for learners and colleagues.

You will be committed to building brighter futures for our learners, and with your excellent interpersonal, communication and practical skills, will be able to resource lessons to meet defined curriculum needs and assist with practical work for small groups or individual students.

Work pattern: 30 hours per week: Monday to Friday 8.45am – 3.30pm - Term time only plus one week (39 weeks per year)
