About the team we are recruiting to

The successful candidate will ensure the effective completion of Accounts Payable work within procedural and audit guidelines and the provision of a quality service to the public, external and internal customers, deputising for the AP Manager in all relevant activities.

We are at the heart of the on-going economic and social development of the city and are involved with facilitating payments and developing processes for suppliers and internal departments involved in the Godiva Festival and City Centre South developments. The team is also integral to the improvement of services for Adult's and Children's Social Care, Public Health and Homelessness strategies.

Accounts Payable are proud to have played a key part in accelerating payments to support vulnerable suppliers and distribute grants to local businesses and residents.

What is the job role?

The Deputy Accounts Payable Manager will ensure the effective completion of Accounts Payable work within procedural and audit guidelines and the provision of a quality service to the public, external and internal customers.

The Deputy Accounts Payable Manager will deputising for the AP Manager in all relevant activities in periods of absence or peak times, including; return to work meetings, 1-1-s and representing AP in meetings.

The role of the Deputy Accounts Payable Manager also includes the efficient discharge of the daily pay run processes and liaising with the recovery audit to recover potential duplicate payments, unallocated credits and VAT overpayments.
