This position has been created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have an exciting opportunity where you can be part of a team working in response to Covid-19.

Nationally, we are all asked to follow Public Health or Dept of Health and Social Care government guidance to stay safe and manage our response to Covid-19. It is important that we all continue to follow the guidance to protect ourselves and the people around us.

One of the many actions taken by the Council in response to this, has been to implement a Covid Advisor Taskforce to support our communities to keep safe. The taskforce is mobilised as needed across the city, providing targeted support and information to residents, businesses and communities.

What is the job role?

We have an opportunity to expand our existing team to help us manage the Covid risks in our local area. This will enable us to take a citywide approach with a regular visible presence in all Coventry localities.

The tasks of our Covid-19 Task Force include:

  • Offering support and advice to communities, public and businesses to stay safe and operate within public health advice and guidance.
  • Work in teams and are mobilised to targeted areas across the city where data indicates increased Covid-19 related risks/cases and create a presence to reassure, engage and provide information to our residents and business about keeping safe.
  • Gather information that can inform others to take more targeted approaches
  • Focus on being there to help and support the local community.

This role is NOT about enforcement but about being there to help and support the local community.

Our Covid Taskforce operate between the hours of 9am – 7.30pm, Monday – Sunday.

Full training will be provided along with relevant support and appropriate PPE being provided.

Who are we looking for?

If you are community focused, like to work outdoors and enjoy talking to people, this could be the ideal role for you.

You will need to be customer focussed and able to deal with members of the public calmly and politely at all times, particularly in challenging or sensitive situations.

You will need to be physically fit and well, as you will be required to walk around the community areas providing support and guidance to our local people for periods up to 2 -3 hours, in all weathers.

You do not need to drive, but you will need to be able to get to CV1 to CV7 locations.

We need commitment and reliability; therefore, you will be able to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week, on a regular weekly basis.

The contract we are offering is on a casual basis.  However, we may be able to offer you a number of hours per week, for a period of time during this pandemic.

The rate of pay for all hours worked is £10.21 per hour.

Immediate start available subject to relevant suitability and pre employment checks.
