About the team we are recruiting to
In Coventry we cherish and value our award-winning parks and green spaces. We know that they contribute significantly to the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of people and are vital to help protect our environment and wildlife.
The Parks and Open Spaces Team are a passionate, hardworking team responsible for the provision and development of safe and accessible parks and open spaces and the management, planning and maintenance of the Councils trees and urban forest. They work hard to ensure our parks are a welcoming place for all of our residents and visitors to enjoy today and for many years to come.
What is the job role?
Reporting to the Parks and Open Spaces Manager the successful applicant will encourage and support the development of diverse and inclusive social and recreational environments through engagement with our residents and visitors.
To further enhance and protect these vital services you will identify and implement opportunities to maximise income generation across our parks through the implementation of events and activities that recognise and reflect the visions, aims and objectives of the Council.
Through the management of our Urban Rangers Team, you will also lead on the identification and delivery of community-based activities and projects, working with internal and external stakeholders and partners to develop, manage and deliver environmental projects and activities within our communities.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a suitably motivated and enthusiastic manager who is passionate about exceeding customers' experiences and expectations.
With an understanding of the principles and delivery of projects and activities in parks or similar environments, your experience will evidence a proven track record in identifying and delivering improvements that meet customers’ needs alongside an understanding of implementing and managing commercial opportunities to create income generation.
