About the team we are recruiting to

In Coventry, we cherish and value our award-winning parks and green spaces. We know that they contribute significantly to the health, well-being, and quality of life of people and are vital to help protect our environment and wildlife.  

The Parks and Open Spaces Team are a passionate, hardworking team responsible for the provision and development of safe and accessible parks and open spaces and the management, planning and maintenance of the Council's trees and urban forest. They work hard to ensure our parks are a welcoming place for all our residents and visitors to enjoy not just for today but for many years to come.

What is the job role?

You will encourage and support the development of diverse and inclusive social and recreational environments through engagement with our residents and visitors. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities to maximise footfall and income generation across our parks through the development of a host of inclusive events and activities that recognise and reflect the visions, aims and objectives of the Council.  

To further enhance and protect these vital spaces you will be responsible for the ongoing development of the commercial strategy for the parks service.  

You will also lead on the identification and delivery of community-based activities and projects, working with internal and external stakeholders and partners to develop, manage and deliver environmental projects and activities within our communities. 

This post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic manager who thrives on exceeding customers' experiences and expectations. With the experience and knowledge of working in a public-facing visitor attraction, hospitality or leisure venue.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and we can work with people at all levels. With an understanding of the principles and delivery of projects and activities in a visitor attraction or similar environment, your experience will evidence a proven track record in identifying and delivering improvements that meet and exceed customers’ expectations alongside an understanding of implementing, managing and developing commercial opportunities to further enhance income generation for the service.
