What is the job role?

This is an exciting time to join our Therapy Service working within our Integrated Equipment Service (ICES)  working with partners across the city and the region to support users, their families and their carers at the heart of everything we do. 

This role lends you to have the responsibility and accountability for the effective management of the ICES team and the development of the Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) service.

 

Our support and care staff are key in helping people live their best lives, working alongside social workers, occupational therapists and other health and social care professional, committed to achieving the best outcomes for users and their families and carers.

You will be instrumental in ensuring the equipment and assessment centre service meet the quality standards expected of the NHS and the City Council, so the team can deliver the outcomes needed to provide an effective and efficiently run service provision.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

 

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic leader that can lead and develop the service area to maximise service delivery and optimise performance.

With an OT qualification or relevant health and social care background, experience and knowledge of managing budgets (pooled budget), contracts with service providers and managing staff and teams within a Therapy Service, including monitoring and delivering on performance indicators, this role will suit your skill set.

 

You will be responsible for the governance and implementation of quality standards, catalogues, demonstration and display areas, reporting to Service Manager and  Head of Service, Organisational managers and Partnership Board.

A key aspect of this role is to improve DFG performance so an excellent understanding of DFG Legislation and guidance is essential.
