Adult Social Care encompasses a wide range of vital services covering;
- Commissioning Team – we commission and work with a number of providers, to ensure that people with care needs have access to a range of good quality support to enable them to live independent and fulfilling lives
- Social Work Services - we work with individuals who have care and support needs, and with their carers be they older or younger adults
- Occupational Therapy and Equipment Services - we aim to enhance people’s ability to live safely and independently in their home
- Internally Provided Services – we provide direct support to people enabling those in most need to live independent and fulfilled lives
- Business Systems and Continuous Improvement - we provide a range of services including Financial Assessments, provider payment processing and Business Systems administration. The Business Systems team provide support to Adult Social Care, Children’s Services and Education Services.

What is the job role?
We are looking for a dynamic Business Systems Manager to join the Business Systems and Improvement Service in Adult Social Care. Reporting to the Interim Head of Business Systems and Improvement the post holder will lead a small team to deliver and support the Directorates main Children’s Services information systems, LCS & EHM.
You will be joining an established management team committed to supporting children, young people, and their families to live their best lives.
Children’s Services in Coventry has recently been judged Good by OFSTED and the work undertaken by the team supports this and will continue to support our journey to be an Outstanding Local Authority. The team currently works in a hybrid way from home and our offices at One Friargate.
You must have experience in using and developing IT solutions to hold, manage and distribute information and deliver excellent service to a wide range of stakeholders (e.g., Elected Members, suppliers, customers) preferably in front-line service, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
You must have the ability to cope with changing demands and work in a fast-paced service. It’s an exciting role that often challenges the post holder and requires them to think outside of the box to support the fascinating world of Children’s Services.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who can:
- Manage the Business Systems (Children’s) Team and direct the activities and priorities of staff to meet varied and multiple objectives within identified timescales.
- Deliver and support the Directorates main Children’s Services information systems, LCS & EHM.
- Ensure data quality, performance reporting, and system delivery is consistently maintained across Social Care.
- Work with the system supplier to specify and develop new elements of the system and introduce these to staff and partner agencies that are not currently users and plan the method of implementation.
- Develop and maintain close links with corporate colleagues - in particular ICT - to ensure ongoing system developments are technically supported and tested appropriately prior to implementation.
You will work 37 hours per week.
