About the team we are recruiting to
Coventry City Council’s Adult Services have a simple vision and strategy: “Providing support, in the least intrusive manner possible, based on the assets, resources and abilities that are available to people.”
It defines what we are trying to achieve, our purpose and our approach and underpins our principles. All our work, at whatever level, should continue to support the strategy. Adult Services covers a wide range of vital services, such as;
- Social Work Services – working with adults of all ages with care and support needs and their carers
- Occupational Therapy and Equipment Services – enhancing people’s ability to live safely and independently in their home
- Internally Provided Services – enabling those in most need to live independent and fulfilled lives by providing direct support
- Business Systems and Continuous Improvement – supporting the wider service through providing system administration, process improvements, financial transactions processing and conducting financial assessments.
Sitting within Business Systems and Continuous Improvement, the Business Systems Team provide support to over 2000 business customers across Social Care (both Adult’s and Children’s) and Education. This includes internal colleagues, external partners and external organisations. The team deliver support on user queries, application incidents and develop system and process improvements. With an imminent upgrade to the main business system in Adult Services, this is an exciting time to join us as we work to put adults and their carers at the heart of everything we do.
What is the job role?
An opportunity has arisen in the Business Systems (Adults) Team. This is a fast-paced working environment, incorporating a wide variety of skills.
Working closely with colleagues across Adult Services, ICT and Performance Teams, you’ll have the opportunity to develop skills in systems and project management, using data analysis to inform developments.
You’ll provide expert support to the users of our main business systems, to ensure good quality and timely record-keeping and effective use of corporate financial and physical resources.
You will contribute toward the development of systems, users and processes to ensure the systems are up-to-date, relevant and supportive of the work and priorities of the service, its staff and customers.
Who are we looking for?
Do you have:
- excellent communication skills including the ability to explain technical systems and processes to non-technical staff and relate these to core business processes?
- good understanding of the effective use of data, performance information and analysis to inform decision making?
- experience of successful working in a performance management, systems management or programme management environment?
