What is the job role?
Frederick Bird is a large 3/4 form entry, spacious, well-resourced Primary school serving the Hillfields community of Coventry. Our committed staff team are always looking to do more to genuinely promote the life chances of our children.
We are currently in the process of joining Inspire Education Trust who have been supporting us with school improvement from the wider Teaching & Learning team since November 2022. We are very excited about this new partnership and can already see the difference working alongside the Inspire team. With our Ofsted inspection being very recent and the fact we are moving into a Trust, we now have at least 3 years to continue to develop to secure at least ‘Good’ at our next inspection.
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Cook join our busy, supportive and friendly Catering Team. The role will be varied, with its main responsibilities being the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages to over 800 children and staff, ensuring that allergens and dietary requirements are met.
Work Pattern
35 hours per week (7am – 2.30pm Monday to Friday)
38 weeks term time only
Who are we looking for?
We hope to recruit an Assistant Cook with excellent catering skills and experience who is able to support our Catering Team in producing school meals. The candidate will be required to deputise for our Catering Manager when the need arises. We are looking for someone with the passion to work with the Catering Team in continuing to improve the quality of the meals it serves to our children. The candidate will be required to be flexible to support school fetes and events that take place across the school outside of the normal Catering Team hours.
