Coventry City Council’s Migration Team is dedicated to meeting the needs of newly arriving communities and facilitating a successful integration journey into the city. Whether you're passionate about helping people, curious about how the Council runs behind the scenes, or eager to build skills that open doors to long-term career success, this is your chance to shine.

  • Work with a variety of projects to support the delivery of essential services that help recently arrived migrants integrate and live healthy, independent lives. Gain hands-on experience in Council administration, data handling, finance and business support tasks.
  • Be part of a service that provides support to refugees and asylum seekers by working closely with other Council services such as Adult Education, Housing and Social Care.
  • Receive on-the-job training while working towards a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
  • This apprenticeship role is a fixed-term contract of up to 24 months, in line with the duration of the apprenticeship training.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing general administrative support such as scanning, note‑taking, and preparing documents
  • Managing team inboxes, responding to routine enquiries, and prioritising tasks
  • Entering and updating information on internal systems and databases
  • Raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and supporting basic financial tasks
  • Assisting with project administration, including data collection and simple analysis
  • Preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes, and distributing information
  • Helping maintain internal webpages, shared drives, and information platforms 
  • Supporting colleagues with day‑to‑day operational tasks to keep services running smoothly
  • Assist with the delivery of evens and activities when needed.

The pre-interview is a short session to give the candidates further details of the apprenticeship role and to help them understand what to expect from and how to prepare for the final interview.
