Children’s Services provides a wide range of statutory and non-statutory duties, from Early Help and Child Protection, through to children who are looked after.
The service reflects and responds to the changing needs of children and their families. It works to enable a reflective and flexible approach, with a strong Early Help offer and a real focus on Relationship Based Practice and Signs of Safety, which focuses on intervention and keeping families together.

What is the job role?
Are you a dedicated and passionate Social Worker with a drive to make a lasting impact on the lives of children, young people, and families?
We are on the lookout for exceptional Advanced Social Workers (Advanced Practitioners) who share our commitment to providing the best possible support to our Children, Young People and Families.
As an Advanced Social Worker, you will take on a portfolio of intricate cases. Armed with your extensive social work knowledge and an unwavering focus on the welfare of children, you'll navigate complex situations to secure optimal outcomes for our most vulnerable youngsters.
Your expertise will shine as you guide and support colleagues in their professional growth, playing a pivotal role in elevating best practices across our team.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
If you hold a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW) and are registered with Social Work England, we want to hear from you.
Your hands-on experience in working with looked after children, child protection, court proceedings, and timely assessments will be your foundation for success in this role.
