Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its dedicated Children FIRST team as an Advanced Practitioner. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment where your expertise will directly contribute to safeguarding and supporting children, young people, and wider families.

Children FIRST brings together the former MASH and Early Help front door into one service, involving key professionals from across partner agencies to facilitate effective information sharing, analysis, and decision-making. The service plays a vital role in ensuring children and young people receive the right support at the right time through robust safeguarding processes and collaborative working.

What is the job role?

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Advanced Practitioner who can work in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment and provide expertise on support and safeguarding decisions for children and young people. 

The candidate will manage competing demands, prioritise contacts, and work efficiently alongside partners to gather and triangulate information to make evidence-based best-interest decisions. 

The candidate will be responsible for processing and coordinating information requests, undertaking checks, participating in and contributing to strategy discussions as well as working collaboratively with partner agencies. A key aspect of the role is ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely processing of information and as an Advanced Practitioner there will be additional duties for candidates to undertake such as being the children's services representative in forums such as Multi‑Agency Risk Assessment Conferences etc.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
