What is the job role?

Tiverton School is a primary special school on the same site as Whitley Abbey Primary School, with whom we are developing some exciting partnerships. We cater for children with a very broad range of cognitive and complex learning difficulties. Some children have physical disabilities and require help with their personal care. We are looking to recruit Supervisory Assistants / Teaching Assistant to work 17.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 11.30am – 3.00pm, term time only + 1 week 39 weeks.

The role involves serving hot meals to pupils, supervising at mealtimes and playtimes. This may also involve feeding and engaging children in outdoor play.

You will also undertake ancillary duties including the wiping of tables, cleaning of spillages, ensuring areas are left tidy after dinners.

In the afternoon you will be required to work in a class to support the class teacher for the afternoon session.

Applicants will have enthusiasm and a positive approach to working with children as a member of a friendly and supportive staff team. Training will be provided.
