What is the job role?
Tiverton Primary Special school is a growing school. From September we will have 100 pupils on roll. We will grow to over 100 pupils in the next 2 years. Our pupils come from Coventry and all have an EHC Plan of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our pupils are at the heart of all we do.
We already have a large number of committed staff, who share the school vision:

The Headteacher and Governors recognise the immense and valuable role played by all staff at the school.
The role of the Teaching Assistant (TA) at Tiverton is invaluable in supporting the teaching, learning, care and behaviour for all pupils across the primary school.
From September we require a 1:1 support for a very special reception pupil with a severe visual impairment and needs.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working with students within a similar setting. However, we welcome candidate with a strong desire to work in the area of SEND who are willing to undertake training.
As a 1-1 support, you will be responsible for ensuring that this pupil accesses his individual curriculum which ensuring his Education, Health and care plan needs are delivered and adhered to.
You will need to hold an NVQ 2 qualification (or equivalent) or above.

35 hours per week, term time only plus 1 week (39 weeks)
One Year Fixed term contract in the first instance
